Sales Support Manager/Contractor Division

The primary objective of this position is to support the growth of the CHAUVET ® production/install market by providing technical, design and marketing support to end-users, internal staff, manufacturer’s representatives and dealers. The sales support manager acts as a liaison among CHAUVET sales, product development, marketing and existing or potential customers. The successful candidate must demonstrate business and technical savvy and have a successful lighting design or relationship sales track record in the field of professional lighting entertainment. The sales support manager reports to the National Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, articulate, report and monitor market penetration opportunities, and assist in establishing roadmaps, product positioning, sales and marketing strategies for the CHAUVET ® range of Contractor lighting products.
  • Monitor the competition and market trends and customers’ needs. Gather, organize and analyze feedback for presentation and discussion with product, sales and marketing executives.
  • Provide technical guidance to the sales staff, designers, specifiers, installers and dealers as needed.
  • Assist and guide the inside/outside sales force to come up effective product presentations and applications and meet their sales objectives. Work with the product and marketing team to produce technical and sales training materials for internal sales and manufacturers’ representatives.
  • Assist specifiers, bidders, show and event designers in determining effective applications of the lighting products and assist in the design and specifying process as needed.
  • Assist the product marketing team to develop effective product launches, trade shows and promotions.
  • Cultivate and develop close relationships with production houses, rental companies, show and event producers and high-profile installers and dealers.
  • Visit existing and potential customers, participate and provide support, as needed, in seminars, road shows, trade shows, technical product demonstrations and any other relevant marketing and training programs.
  • Requirements:

  • BS or BA in marketing, business, architectural engineering preferred or equivalent business experience
  • 5-7 years of management experience, with demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in use of major PC applications including Microsoft Office
  • Expertise in Production/Installation Lighting technology and applications.
  • Existing network of established relationships in the field of Production/Installation Lighting
  • An extensive track record in sales of Professional Lighting and/or Lighting design and installations
  • Ability to make effective, clear and memorable presentations that bridge marketing, sales and technical requirements
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong sense of lighting design and aesthetics
  • Ability to lead without formal authority by the use of persuasion and diplomacy
  • Ability to travel on short notice
